ALTAIR is free assistive software designed to provide blind, low vision (weak sight) or deaf-blind people a better user experience of ICT at study, work and every day life situations. ALTAIR provides a seamless work environment, integrating a text editor, web browser, and mail program with speech synthesizer and output to Braille displays and variable font size function. With ALTAIR, people can create documents and exchange or collect information via the Internet simply by operating the keyboard without using the mouse.

The newly released ALTAIR Version 6.0 offers improved usability for beginners and users with low vision (weak sight). Altair offers easy access to the Desktop, My Documents, and networks files. Windows standard shortcuts and menu bar have been introduced. In addition, supporting the KDBC driver, users can use a screen reader and Altair simultaneously.
